Why It Matters
Education has always been the main avenue that racial and ethnic minorities have used to pursue the American Dream. However, research consistently shows that college recruitment for high school students favor affluent white school districts and often leaves minority students behind. Additionally, traveling to different cities throughout the country to meet college representatives and learn about the specific schools that minority students and their families are interested can be a huge financial burden and not an option for all. Minority Virtual Fairs provides a safe, convenient, and cost-effective way for all black students and parents to learn about schools to help them choose the best fit for them.
